Introduction
Welcome to Hamsters Club. Your privacy is of utmost importance to us. In this policy, we outline the types of information we collect, how we use it, and the steps we take to safeguard that data.
1. Information We Collect
We collect two primary types of information:
-
Analytical Data: This includes statistical data to track website traffic and user interaction on our site. This information is purely statistical and does not include personal specifics.
-
Transactional Data: When you purchase items from us, we collect necessary transactional information, which includes your name, address, contact details, and payment information. We do not store your credit card details on our servers. Instead, they are securely processed by trusted third-party payment gateways.
2. Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to aid spam detection. An anonymized string (hash) created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service. Following the approval of your comment, your profile picture is publicly visible in the context of your comment.
3. Media
If you upload images to the website, it’s advisable to avoid images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
4. Cookies
If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience, so you don’t have to re-enter your details when you leave another comment. These cookies last for one year.
Visiting our login page will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies, discarded when you close your browser. Logging in sets several cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. Logging out removes these cookies. Editing or publishing an article saves an additional cookie in your browser, which indicates the post ID of the edited article and expires after 1 day.
5. Embedded Content
Articles may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles). This content behaves as if the visitor has visited the originating site. These sites might collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content, especially if you have an account and are logged in to that site.
6. Data Sharing
If you request a password reset, the reset email will include your IP address. Visitor comments might be verified through an automated spam detection service.
7. Data Retention
Leaving a comment retains the comment and its metadata indefinitely. This recognition allows for the automatic approval of follow-up comments. For registered users, we store the personal information provided in their profile. Users can see, edit, or delete their information at any time (username changes are restricted). Administrators can also view and edit this information.
8. User Rights
If you have an account or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the data we hold about you, inclusive of data provided to us. You can also ask for the erasure of personal data. This doesn’t cover data we need to retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
9. Data Security
- Strict measures ensure data security.
- All payment transactions are encrypted via trusted third-party gateways.
10. Third-Party Websites and Services
Our site may link to other websites, and we use third-party payment processors. Their respective policies, not ours, govern interactions. Payments are securely managed by third-party services.
