Equipment

  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Mixing bowl
  • Vegetable peeler if necessary

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tbsp grated carrot
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped spinach
  • 1 tsp finely chopped cucumber
  • 1 tsp finely chopped apple seeds removed
  • A sprinkle of chia seeds optional for extra Omega-3

Instructions

  • Gather the Greens: Start by thoroughly washing your parsley and spinach leaves. We want to ensure our mix is as clean and pesticide-free as possible for our little friends.
  • Veggie Prep: On your cutting board, use your sharp knife to finely chop the parsley and spinach. Grate the carrot and finely chop the cucumber and apple. Remember to remove any seeds from the apple as they can be harmful to hamsters.
  • Mixing the Bounty: In your mixing bowl, gently toss together the chopped parsley, spinach, grated carrot, cucumber, and apple.
  • Adding the Final Touch: For an additional omega-3 boost, sprinkle a tiny amount of chia seeds over the mix. Just a pinch will do, as we don't want to overwhelm their little systems.
  • Serving Up Freshness: Serve a small portion of Granny's Garden Harvest Mix to your hamster's food bowl. It should be a complement to their regular diet, not a replacement.
  • Storage for Freshness: If there's any leftover mix, you can store it in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 24 hours, but it's best served fresh to maintain the nutrients.

Notes

Always introduce new foods to your hamster gradually, my dears. Even natural and healthy changes to their diet can be a big adjustment for their tiny tummies. Keep an eye on your hamster to ensure they're enjoying the mix without any digestive upsets. And there you have it, a garden in a bowl, ready to delight your hamster's palate and nourish their body. Bon appétit, little ones!
