Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon or whisk
  • Measuring spoons
  • Refrigerator
  • Small serving dishes hamster-sized

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp pureed pumpkin no added spices or sugar
  • 1 tbsp hamster-safe milk special pet milk
  • 1 tsp unsweetened natural yogur
  • A sprinkle of ground flaxseeds
  • A tiny pinch of cinnamon make sure it's a very small amount as strong spices aren't great for hamsters

Instructions

  • Pumpkin Prep: Ensure your pumpkin puree is plain and unsweetened, as spices and sugar can upset your hammy's tummy
  • Mixing Marvels: In your bowl, combine the pumpkin puree and hamster-safe milk. Mix these until you reach a smooth consistency.
  • Probiotic Power: Fold in the natural yogurt gently. This will not only add a creamy texture but also introduce beneficial bacteria for your hamster's digestive system.
  • Flaxseed Finish: Sprinkle in the ground flaxseeds and stir. These are a fantastic source of fiber and Omega-3 fatty acids, which are excellent for your hamster's coat and overall health.
  • Optional Spice: If you choose to include cinnamon, remember, a tiny pinch is more than enough for their sensitive systems.
  • Chill Out: Pour the mixture into the hamster-sized serving dishes and let them chill in the refrigerator for about an hour. This will set the pudding slightly, making it a fun texture for your hamster to explore.
  • Serve Sensibly: Once chilled, give your hamster a small amount of this treat. Although it's healthy, it should complement their regular diet, not replace it.
