  • Measuring spoons
  • Plate or tray lined with parchment paper

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp unsweetened peanut butter make sure it's xylitol-free
  • 1 tsp oats finely ground
  • 2 tbsp plain cooked quinoa cooled
  • A small pinch of ground flaxseed optional for an omega boost!

Instructions

  • Mix the Base: In your small mixing bowl, combine the unsweetened peanut butter, finely ground oats, and cooled quinoa. If you're using flaxseed, sprinkle it in now. Stir everything together until you get a uniform mixture.
  • Form the Balls: Using a teaspoon, scoop out small portions of the mixture. Roll them between your palms gently to form little balls. If the mixture sticks to your hands, dab a bit of ground oats on your palms before rolling.
  • Chilling Time: Place the formed balls on a plate or tray lined with parchment paper. Pop them into the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to set. This helps the Peanut Butter Puff Balls hold their shape and firm up.
  • Serving Your Hamster: Offer one Peanut Butter Puff Ball to your hamster as a treat. Remember, these are quite rich and should be given sparingly to prevent any tummy troubles!
  • Storage: Keep any leftover Peanut Butter Puff Balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Make sure they’re at room temperature when you give them to your hamster to avoid any cold shock.
