Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Muffin tin miniature size for hamster portions
  • Grater
  • Oven

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp finely grated carrots
  • 1 tbsp finely grated zucchini
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped spinach
  • 2 tbsp oat flour hamster-safe
  • 1 tbsp mixed seeds like flaxseeds and unsalted sunflower seeds
  • A pinch of turmeric powder for added health benefits
  • 1-2 tsp water as needed to bind the mixture

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to a snug 350°F (175°C).
  • Prepare the veggies: Grate the carrots and zucchini finely and chop the spinach into tiny pieces that are just right for little hamster mouths.
  • Combine the dry ingredients: In a warm, love-filled mixing bowl, combine the oat flour, mixed seeds, and a little pinch of turmeric.
  • Add the veggies: Add the freshly prepared veggies to the dry mixture and give it a good mix, letting all the colors and flavors mingle beautifully.
  • Add water: Gradually add water, just enough to create a moist, but not wet, mixture that holds together nicely.
  • Shape the muffins: Lovingly press the mixture into the mini muffin tin, filling each section to create adorable little muffins.
  • Bake with care: Pop the muffin tin into the preheated oven and bake for about 15 minutes, or until the muffins are set and slightly golden on top.
  • Cooling time: Once done, take them out of the oven and allow them to cool down to room temperature before serving it to your furry darling.

Notes

Introduce these muffins slowly into your hamster’s diet, starting with small portions to ensure they suit your little one’s tummy.
